It is always there, at the end of the year. And with Christmas, family, memories, the review of the year… Christmas is a state of mind, a perspective, an attitude… and then we feel a little more capable of transforming the world.
In Cortijo el Puerto, we share this positive thinking and this taking stock: our 2018 has been a year of harvest and consolidation.
We started the year with the great news of having become the most awarded company in the EVOO World Ranking.
We started the year strong and working hard and with enthusiasm. Throughout 2018, numerous certifications have been granted, agreements signed and awards collected.
We obtained Double Certification ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality) and UNE 166002: 2014 (Innovation), and we got the license for piloting drones (Operator Aircraft RPAS by AESADrone Pilots)
Towards the middle of the year, we received the certification of Organic for Almond tree farming (first to do it in hedgerow system), a step more in our pioneering character; always linked to innovation and environmental commitment.
We have also been granted with the Innovative SME by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, a certification that makes us happy and motivates us even more in our principles of ecology and innovation. We reaffirm ourselves in the commitment to continuous improvement in all the processes and their optimization integrating environmental and social concerns, our hybrid Organic + Innovative project.
Cortijo el Puerto grows up and our scope of action expands to livestock – all within this holistic and circular economy project. The Fall brought us a CAAE certification in Agriculture + Livestock + Industry: Olives, Almonds, Citrus, Sheep, Hens and products.
All 100% organic and in the line of a project that cares about the native species – threatened and endangered – and that integrates them into this rich ecosystem in an operative way. We want to recover them, understanding the direct and indirect value that biodiversity brings us.
This has aroused the interest from the media that recognize the quality, social commitment and ecology of the Cortijo el Puerto initiative.
The harvest arrived and everything adds up: the quality of the soil, the plants, the air and the whole ecosystem of the Cortijo, all this becomes noticeable in the flavour of our organic and gourmet Extra Virgin Olive Oils.
The environment-friendly and ecological family met at the farm in December, we were pleased to welcome the Ecovalia team (Valor Ecológico-CAAE Association) and closed the year in a symbolic way with a pre-Christmas lunch, making a group and reaffirming the values that drive us together.
